PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Northern Maine Community Trails announced a $25,000 gift from the Logan P. Graves Foundation, a major boost toward securing more than 750 acres of forest, hills and trails in Presque Isle as a permanent playground for Aroostook County’s kids and families.
“This is where kids in Aroostook County learn to ski, ride a bike, and fall in love with the outdoors,” Chris Condon, president of NMCT, said. “The Logan P. Graves Foundation isn’t just helping us pay down a loan — they’re investing in the next generation of Northern Mainers.”
“The Logan P. Graves Foundation was created to honor the memory of our son Logan through a special commitment to children and the communities of Northern Maine,” Lynne and Bob Graves said. “We believe preserving these trails is an investment in the health, happiness and future of our children and their families, giving them a place to explore the outdoors, challenge themselves and create memories together for generations to come.”
For young people especially, the property is a proving ground, a place to push a little further on skis, tackle a new bike trail or simply be a kid outside. Every dollar raised keeps that experience open and free for the next generation, funding trail maintenance, youth programming and long-term stewardship.
