Eagle River, Alaska – Faith Steeves, 44, died April 1, 2007 at her home in Eagle River, Alaska after a five-year fight with breast cancer, the leading cause of death for women ages 35 to 55.
A memorial service was held at 6 pm Friday, April 6th at VFW Post 9785 in Eagle River. Her cremated remains will be scattered in a meadow on the Black Stone Road in Perham, Maine.
Mrs. Steeves was born May 20, 1962 in Leominster, Maine and graduated from Washburn District High School in 1980. In 1992 she moved to Alaska where she worked for Wal-Mart in Anchorage and Eagle River. Her hobbies included cross-stitch, puzzles, playing cards and going to the movies with Tina.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Steeves; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Erica; son, Shane and his fiancé, Brandy Ingels; all of Eagle River; parents, Clarence and Sharon (Fitch) Bonderson of Perham, Maine; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Holly of Salem, AL; sisters and brother-in-law, Tammy and Alton of Washburn, Maine; several nieces and nephews; and the management and associates of Wal-Mart store # 2188 in Eagle River.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway #250, Dallas, TX 75244. Arrangements were made with Evergreen’s Eagle River Funeral Home, 11046 Chugiak Drive.
