Three players from the region were named to the Bangor Daily News all-tournament team after their stellar play in the event held at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor Feb. 16-24.
Senior Griffin Guerrette of Presque Isle made the Class B squad, while seniors Isaac Cyr and Jared Harvey of Fort Fairfield were selected to the Class C team.
Guerrette was joined on the Class B North team by Andrew Phelps of Mount Desert Island and Hermon teammates Keenan Marseille, Cody Hawes and Garrett Trask.
Cyr and Harvey, along with Taylor Schildroth and Max Mattson, both of George Stevens Academy, and Caden Spencer-Thompson of Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln make up the Class C squad.
Guerrette, a 6-foot guard, was the leading scorer in the tournament regardless of class, averaging 33 points for Presque Isle. He scored 36 points in a quarterfinal win over Orono and 30 in a semifinal loss to Mount Desert Island.
Cyr, a second-year all-tourney pick, led Fort Fairfield to its third regional final in the last four years. The senior guard averaged 21.7 points, including a 27-point outburst during the Tigers’ quarterfinal win over Piscataquis of Guilford.
Harvey, a 5-10 senior forward, had two double-doubles in helping Fort Fairfield reach the championship game and averaged 12.7 points and 12.3 rebounds in the tournament.
The William C. Warner Tournament MVPs were Marseille in Class B, Schildroth in Class C and Justin Worden of Woodland in Class D.
