WASHBURN, Maine – Elaine R. Corey, 93, passed away on March 31, 2018, at a healthcare facility in Caribou. She was born on October 17, 1924, in Washburn, the daughter of Allen and Juanita (Stairs) Russell.
Elaine worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years and served as postmaster in Washburn. She was also a member of Lidstone Memorial Methodist Church in Washburn. Elaine loved to walk with friends and loved taking care of her family.
She is survived by nieces, Ruth (Corey) White and Mary Mason; nephews, Steve, Scott, and Freeman Corey; special adopted family, Rick and Lynn Theriault of Caribou and their children, Eric, Andrew and his wife, Amanda, and Evan and their children, Drew, Dorothy, and Reid. She will also be remembered by her special neighbors and friends, Bruce and Sally Blakney of Washburn and their children, Crystal Hobbs, Amber Yopp, and Tabitha Corey, and their children, Charlie, Chase, Chelsea, Isaiah, Miracle, and Luke. She will also be missed by her church family.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Raydon H. Corey, niece, Patricia, nephew, Steve, and her very special friend, Everett W. Cary, Jr.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018m at Lidstone Memorial Methodist Church, Washburn, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastors Ellen Cleaves and Bruce Blakney, officiating.
