Shire golfers top Old Town, Orono in first match of season

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton High School golf team bested Old Town and Orono in the first home match of the year, Thursday, Aug. 26 at the Houlton Community Golf Course.

The Shires shot a low score of 188 to easily best Old Town (206) and Orono (223) on the day. Shire Collin Moody was the medalist as he shot a 37. 

The complete results from the match were as follows: 

Houlton — Moody 37; Garrett Harvey, 46; Kollin Irish, 49; Madalyn Quirk, 57; Alyssa Nightingale, 56; Abby Fitzpatrick, 56; Joley Stone, 60; Clare Prescott, 63; and McKenna Avery, 65. 

Old Town — Alden Rand, 50; Austyn Moores, 62; Nate Baker, 52; Olivia Neely, 59; Jayden Brawn, 48; Keegan Plourde, 56; Sam Core, 59; and Michael Garland, 54. 

Orono — Ellis Spaulding, 50; Mason Kenney, 60; Noah Jones, 59; Noah Schaff, 66; Camden Brown, 71; Brock Parks, 54; and Colston Neil 64.
