As you may know, the Presque Isle Police Department has a few new officers. We are proud to welcome Officer Kaitlyn McLaughlin back from the 18-week Maine Criminal Justice Academy Basic Law Enforcement Program.
She performed wonderfully and won the academy class “Iron Man” competition several times. Next month, Officer Lucas Hafford will begin his 18-week academy education and we wish him the best of luck!
During my career I have had the pleasure of working with many senior citizens who volunteered their time to the law enforcement community. Seniors bring so many wonderful characteristics with them, they have great life experience, a very strong work ethic, they tend to be very punctual and dependable. The Presque Isle Police Department is excited to announce it has found its first volunteer. Mr. Jack Parker has joined our team and will start out by providing additional support at our front lobby window. I anticipate other opportunities and responsibilities for him and others who may be interested in volunteer work within the police department.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate the top three vote-getters regarding our uniform shoulder patch contest. The most votes went to a design submitted by Mr. Jeff Ouellette; second place went to Ken Keaton, and third place went to Lynn Cote. All of the submissions were great and very much appreciated. I am currently working with a couple of the artists and a patch design company to develop the final design. I will let you all know when it’s done.
