3-Day Outlook: Wed. July 3 – Fri. July 5

High pressure will drift offshore of the Middle Atlantic today with a warm front lifting across the SJV Wednesday night producing a chance of showers after midnight. A cold front will cross the Valley Independence Day with a chance of showers and isolated afternoon thunderstorms as it moves to the Downeast coast region and stalls out. 

Partly cloudy skies are expected Thursday night with a chance of evening showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny skies overspread the Saint John Valley Friday with a chance of afternoon showers as the stalled coastal front lifts back to the north as a warm front. Scattered showers are possible Friday night into Saturday morning as the front slowly drifts northwards.

Today: Mostly sunny this morning, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Numerous showers with isolated thunderstorms after midnight. Lows around 60. South winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Independence Day: Mostly cloudy in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. A chance of showers. A slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the upper 50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Friday: Partly sunny. A chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Northwest winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

A warm front lifts across the Valley Saturday with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies with showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected Saturday night. 

Partly sunny skies are expected Sunday as a cold front crosses the SJV with showers and isolated thunderstorms for Fort Kent and vicinity. Scattered showers are possible Sunday evening with skies becoming mostly sunny Monday as high pressure builds into the region.

The cold front stalls out along the coast into the Maritimes and helps keep enough instability aloft for a slight chance of showers across the Valley Monday and Monday night. Partly sunny skies are expected Tuesday with a chance of mainly afternoon showers and scattered thunderstorms.
