Acadia Federal Credit Union, with eight — soon-to-be nine — branches throughout northern and eastern Maine, is excited to announce the addition of Michael C. Borman as the new vice president of lending. Borman joined Acadia’s team last month, bringing with him over 25 years of extensive experience in the financial industry.

Acadia FCU is confident that Borman’s leadership will play a crucial role in enhancing its lending services and supporting its mission to provide financial solutions that improve the lives of its members and the communities it serves.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Michael as Acadia’s new vice president of lending,” said Acadia FCU Executive Vice President Joey Cannan. “Michael’s expertise and strategic approach are exactly what we need to take our lending team to the next level. His dedication to growth and delivering exceptional member experiences will be invaluable as we expand into new markets and set higher standards in lending.”

Before joining Acadia FCU, Borman served as chief lending officer at Jetstream Federal Credit Union in Miami Lakes, Florida, and Family First Credit Union in Atlanta, Georgia. His career also includes leadership roles at prominent institutions such as Fifth Third Bank and Wells Fargo, where he honed his skills in retail and regional banking. Borman holds a bachelor of science in business administration with a major in marketing from the University of Central Florida.

Borman describes his leadership style as transformational, emphasizing collaboration and a shared vision for success. “My goal is to make the lending experience easy and convenient while we work to expand our loan offerings, helping our current and future members achieve their financial goals,” said Borman. “Acadia FCU has always been committed to providing personalized solutions that fit each member’s unique needs, and I’m excited to build on that tradition by introducing innovative lending products and services.”

A native of Cooper City, Florida, Borman’s career journey has brought him to Madawaska where he resides with his wife Andrea. They have two grown children currently attending college. Outside of work, Borman enjoys golfing and spending quality time with his family.
