CARIBOU, Maine – The Aroostook Hospice Foundation held its 3rd Annual Walk for Hospice on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Caribou High School track & trails, raising more than $68,000 in support of the Aroostook House of Comfort! This meaningful event brought the community together to raise funds, promote awareness, and celebrate the lives of those touched by hospice care.
The 2025 walk proudly featured Greenlaw Electric, LLC as Event Sponsor and the Family of Dr. David Jones as Memorial Dedication Sponsor. They are deeply grateful to each and every sponsor, donor, volunteer, participant and team whose commitment and generosity made this day possible. In total, 20 Trail Sponsors, 22 Community Sponsors, 38 Friend Sponsors and 10 In-Kind Sponsors supported the event alongside 24 teams and 364 participants who joined together with family, friends and colleagues for a beautiful day of reflection, hope and healing.
“Each year, the Walk for Hospice reminds us of the incredible strength and compassion of our community,” said Abbey Clair, executive director of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation. “It is more than just a fundraiser. It is where people come together to honor loved ones, lift up families and stand united in the belief that every neighbor deserves dignity, comfort and compassion at the end of life. The outpouring of generosity ensures that the Aroostook House of Comfort will continue to serve our region for years to come.”
The Aroostook Hospice Foundation extends a special thank you to Caribou High School for generously donating the use of the track and trails when the Walk’s original venue was unexpectedly no longer available. Their willingness to step up ensured the tradition could continue and provided a beautiful, welcoming setting for this year’s event.

A highlight of the day came when Pineland Farms Potato Company pledged to match all donations raised during the morning of the Walk. With $6,000 contributed through registrations, raffle sales, and donations, their pledge doubled the impact to $12,000 raised in just a few hours. The annual raffle, generously sponsored by S.W. Collins Company, also created a special moment. This year’s winner Angel Kearly donated her Blackstone Griddle prize to the Presque Isle Fire Department in memory of her late husband, Mark Kearly, who proudly served with the department for many years. The heartfelt gesture honored his legacy in a deeply meaningful way.
Funds raised from the Walk support every corner of the Aroostook House of Comfort’s mission, from plowing driveways in the winter, to providing anniversary dinners and gas cards for families, as well as ensuring Charity Care is available for those in need.
The Aroostook Hospice Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, sponsors, donors, volunteers, board members and staff whose dedication made this year’s Walk a success. The Foundation is excited to announce that the 4th Annual Walk for Hospice will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at the Caribou High School track & trails.
