PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that Lori Deschaine, LCSW, has been appointed chief operating officer. Deschaine has served AMHC in various roles, including therapist, clinical consultant and overseeing the accreditation of AMHC’s Children’s Advocacy Centers with the National Children’s Alliance. As COO, Deschaine will oversee AMHC’s day-to-day operations across all services and sites in Aroostook, Hancock and Washington counties in partnership with the senior leadership team.
On Deschaine’s promotion, AMHC CEO Christy Daggett said, “Lori’s clinical background and 27 years of experience with the agency made her the leading choice for the position. She is well-suited for this role.”

Deschaine has worked for AMHC since August 1998, beginning her tenure as a residential staff person at the Aroostook Academy Group Home. In 2021 she began overseeing the Aroostook Children’s Advocacy Center and the Downeast Children’s Advocacy Center. Deschaine earned her BA in behavioral science from the University of Maine at Fort Kent and her master’s in social work from the University of New England.
