University of Maine at Presque Isle student Darick Williams received the American FFA Degree at the 79th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis on Saturday, October 28, 2006.

It is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization and recognizes Williams’ demonstrated leadership abilities and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production, processing and service programs.
Less than one in 165 members advance through their local chapter and state FFA degree programs to earn this national degree.
Currently studying Business Management, Williams is a member of the Caribou FFA Chapter.  His agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor is Thomas Hale.
Williams received a gold American FFA Degree key, wallet ID card and a certificate to commemorate the achievement.
The recognition program is sponsored by Case IH, The Farm Credit System Foundation, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., and other agricultural businesses as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
