RAYMOND KENNEDY, commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2599, led a remembrance service Memorial Day at Fairmount Cemetery before the start of the annual parade in Presque Isle. The service and parade were under the direction of the VFW and the American Legion Ray Goding Post 88.

WENDELL HUDSON of Castle Hill, himself a military veteran, sang the national anthem at the Mapleton Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony hosted by the Mapleton Lions Club.
