Houlton – Raymond Leigh "Razor" Cunliffe, 80, died Nov. 19, 2007, at his Houlton home, surrounded by members of his loving family. He was born March 10, 1927, at Houlton, the son of Jarvis W. and Leona (Spooner) Cunliffe.
    Ray attended Houlton schools and was a graduate of Houlton High School and attended Beals College. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a self-employed Master Floor Mechanic for over 50 years and was known throughout Aroostook and Washington Counties for his craftsmanship. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Chester L. Briggs Post #47, and Houlton Lodge of Elks #835. He was a past member of the Meduxnekeag Club of Houlton, and the Houlton Odd Fellows Lodge. He loved spending time with his family and friends, bowling in couples and mens leagues and the Eastern Maine Bowling Tournaments, playing cards with family and the Hearts Gang. His favorite past time was fishing with family and friends.
    Ray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances (Plourde) Cunliffe; one son, Matthew Cunliffe of Richmond, VA; eight daughters, Debbie Douglass and her husband Paul of Bullhead City, AZ, Sandra Duffy and her husband Lawrence of Sandwich, MA, Kathy Joseph and her husband John of Cape Cod, MA, Dianne Lincoln and her husband Roger "Bud", Brenda Duff and her husband Joseph, Joanne Cunliffe, Cindy Veysey and her husband Laurel, Crystal Gallop and her husband Shane all of Houlton; eighteen grand-children; eight great-grand-children; one sister, Ruth Hastings of Bangor; one brother, Kenneth Cunliffe of NH; a very special son-in-law, Michael Prosser of Houlton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray was predeceased by his loving daughter, Linda Prosser; one grandson, Mark Bruso; two sisters, Edna Cunliffe and Pearl Hetrick; two brothers, Hillis and Hollis Cunliffe.
    Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Church Wednesday 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating. Gifts may be made in Ray’s memory to the Linda Prosser Fund at Cary Library or Hospice of Aroostook c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730.
