Top antique tractor pullers honored at banquet

    The Maine Antique Tractor Club/Northern Branch, recently held its annual awards banquet, with honors going to several members for being the top pullers in their particular category during 2007. The ceremony took place Nov. 17 at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center, with 92 people in attendance for the gathering.

    TOP PULLERS were honored during a banquet in Caribou put on by the Maine Antique Tractor Club/Northern Branch held Nov. 17.     The top pullers are as follows:
• 2,000-pound class – Jon Poitras, of Limestone, on a John Deere L;
• 2,500-pound class – Richard Carter, of Castle Hill, on his Allis Chalmers;
• 3,000-pound class – Logan Brewer, of Bridgewater, using an Oliver 60;
• 3,500-pound class – Robert Watson, of Houlton, with an Allis Chalmers AC;
• 4,000-pound and 4,500-pound class – Bill Fitzherbert, of Washburn, driving an Oliver 70 Row Crop;
• 5,000-pound class – Lionel Roy, of Caribou, on an Oliver 77;
• 5,500-pound class – Bill Fitzherbert, of Washburn, with an Oliver 88;
• 6,000-pound class – Danny Bell, of Washburn, on his Farmall M;
• 6,500-pound class – Brent Edgecomb, of Limestone, using a Farmall Super M;
• 7,000-pound class – Arthur York, of Medway, driving a Cockshutt 50;
• 7,500-pound class – Troy Doody, of Presque Isle, on a Farmall M; and
• Open class – Shane Kingsbury, of Bridgewater, driving a Farmall 400.
