HOULTON, Maine — Delegates from Houlton High School have been chosen for Dirigo Boys’ and Girls’ State.
Dirigo Boys’ and Girls’ State is a school of government sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. Girls’ State will be held at Husson College from June 15 to June 20 and Boys’ State will be at Thomas College June 15 to June 19.
Delegates are chosen by the Social Studies department at the high school. This year’s delegates are Zara Farrar, Anna Caron, Dustin Delano, Elliot Mooers and Issac St. John.
Farrar, the daughter of Stephen and Bernadette Farrar, is sponsored by Houlton High School’s Student Council. Anna Caron, daughter of Linda Bellisle, is being sponsored by Katahdin Trust Company. Elliot Mooers, the son of Andrew Mooers and Hollie Houston, and Issac St. John, the son of Scott and Catherine St. John, are both being sponsored by the American Legion, Chester L. Briggs Post 47. Dustin Delano, the son of Julie and Dana Delano, is being sponsored by the Houlton Lodge of Elks.
