An enormous wooden basket just chock a block full of gardening and baking items has been given the name of “Bloomin’, Bakin’ Basket” for the ladies. Also included in the women’s prize is a live Christmas tree.
For the gentlemen, the Health Services Foundation is giving away a “Cool Carrier” on wheels which is full of everything from auto, to grilling, to space organizing, and so much more.
To add even more excitement, a 50 Gallon Home Heating Oil Certificate courtesy of Dead River Company in each one. Fuel oil must be delivered within Dead River’s service area.
“Now we all know the price of heating oil has become difficult, so our lucky winners will at least have a leg up with their 50 gallons. The total value of each of these items has gone over the $650 mark making the total raffle over $1,300. The last basket the Foundation raffled off contained over $1,300 worth of goodies so it is great to have the numbers up there again”, said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation Executive Director.
Tickets are $2.00 each or three for $5.00 and are available at the Foundation’s office located on the first floor of Houlton Regional Hospital and all day at the Craft Fair, Monument Park, Houlton on August 23rd. Those wishing to purchase $25 worth of tickets on their credit card before the fair may do so by calling 207-521-2503. Every purchase over $15 will receive a free People Pin by Lucinda while supplies last. “All items were donated to the Foundation to “Support the Cause of Excellence in Healthcare” and we are so appreciative of everyone who so generously gave. Every item means so much and gives back so much for healthy/happy communities”, Dulin said. Drawing will be held end of day at the Fair.
Funds raised will assist the Foundation’s $1 million campaign in support of Houlton Regional Hospital’s Nuclear Medicine Project. A huge success was realized when the Foundation recently raised over $300K for the purchase of state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine Imaging Equipment. The focus now shifts to the expansion/renovation of the current radiology testing area and will address critical privacy/comfort needs. “It is our goal to make sure that everyone using this facility has all the privacy and comfort possible while undergoing stressful testing. We encourage anyone having questions about such a large undertaking by the Foundation to please call our office and we will be happy to explain this very important goal for our hospital”, continued Dulin.
