WASHINGTON STATE – Buck Potter, 88, WWII Navy Veteran died in Everett, Washington on August 28, 2008 after a long illness. He was born in Brainerd, Minnesota, April 29, 1920, the son of William Sheridan Potter and Pearle (Jackson).
In addition to his wife, Pearl (Anderson), he is survived by one brother and six sisters; one son, Major Larry S. Potter, Ret. USAF (Ethelle Lord); two daughters: Sharon Potter Whitney, Odessa, Washington and Dianne Potter Barnhart (Greg), Everett, Washington. He was predeceased by a daughter, Judith, in 1944. granddaughters: Sherri Whitney Schellenberger, Phoenix, Arizona; Julianne Potter Dunleavy (James), Presque Isle, Maine; and Jamie Barnhart McMillen (BJ), Blaine, Washington; grandsons: Brad Potter (Lynn), Caribou, Maine, Barrett Potter (Mary), Houlton, Maine; Peter Barnhart (Angela), Arlington, Washington; and Soann Potter. He leaves one step-grandson, Tyne Lord Sansom (Shyanne Jordan), Bath, Maine and several great-grandbabies living in Maine and Washington state.
While listening to Beyond the Sunset sung by Daniel O’Donnell with his wife and daughter, Sharon, by his side, he was able to cross over peacefully. The words spoke loudly to both Buck and Pearl after being friends and partners for over 82 years:
