Hardy, Joyce M., 79, December 10, 2008.  Arrangements by  Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.  Interment to be held in the Smyrna Mills Cemetery.
    MERRILL – Joyce M. Hardy, 79, died Dec. 10, 2008, in Bangor. She was born Aug. 7, 1929, in Crystal, the daughter of Sidney Burns and Rose (Hafford) Lilley.
    Joyce enjoyed being ballot clerk for the town of Merrill and was a certified nurse's aide at Madigan Estates. To "Grammy JJ," her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and she was also known as "Grammy" to most of the town kids.
    She is survived by four children, Roger and Diana Hardy, Dennis and his friend, Ellen Rush, all of Merrill, Jeffrey and Vicki Hardy of Oakfield; her best friend and daughter, Lori and Mark Lawlor of Merrill; four grandchildren, Chris and Hilary Lawlor, Griffin and his friend, Bethany, Makenzie and her friend, Joe, and Clay and his fiancé, Kelli; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Kason, the loves of her life; six brothers and sisters, Fannie Woodard of Buckfield, Addie Russell of Merrill, Alice McMannus of Smyrna, Kenneth Lilley of Smyrna, Fred Lilley of Stacyville and Sidney Lilley of Turner; several nieces, nephews and cousins; in-laws, Janet and Jr. Hardy, Mary and Dana Hardy and Ora Hardy; and her close friend and caretaker, Colleen London. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ansel "Hank"; one son, Charles Kenneth; one brother, Charles; and one sister, Marjorie.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield, where funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday with the Revs. Emma Jean Cook and Sterling Lawrence officiating. Interment will be at Smyrna Mills Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
