PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Twenty employees were recently welcomed into The Aroostook Medical Center’s Veterans-in-Partnership (VIP) group at a recent breakfast held at Gould Memorial Hospital. VIPs are employees who have been employed by TAMC for at least 20 years. “VIPs are such an important part of the medical center,” said Dave Peterson, TAMC president and CEO. “Their experience and wisdom are very valuable, and they help guide us through whatever challenges our organization faces. Other employees look up to them.”
The 20 employees who were welcomed as new members of the VIP group are: Sandra Stewart, Pamela Scott, James McKenney, Lori Michaud, Rebecca Thibodeau, Karen Everett, Denys Cornelio, Perry Jackson, Frederick Parsons, Stewart White, Christopher Mullen, Calvin Prest, Wanda Picard, Tonya Pinette, Karel Kenney, Wanda Dyer, Marcia Kilcollins, Tracie Grew, Prudence Guiggey and Barbara Cowett.
TAMC’s VIP group has grown to 185 employees who have collectively contributed more than 4,900 years of service to the organization over the years. TAMC, the largest employer in Aroostook County, employs almost 1,100 employees.
“I think it’s remarkable that so many employees have been with the organization for so many years,” added Peterson. “It speaks to the commitment of our VIP group and to the fact that the work we do is rewarding and important.”
