Wright, Elizabeth R., 88, Caribou, in Fort Kent, March 4, 2009. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

    Caribou – Elizabeth R. Wright, 88, died March 5, 2009, at Fort Kent following a brief illness.
    She was born in Fort Fairfield June 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Allison and Ella Mae (Amsden) Kelley. In her younger years Elizabeth was a hairdresser and during WW II she was employed at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut where she was a machinist grinding fan blades for airplanes. She married Philip Wright who was killed during WWII while crossing the Rhine River.
    In 1954, Elizabeth accepted the Lord as her Savior and attended Zion Bible Institute. Following her graduation from Zion, she served as a missionary in several parts of the country. She spent many years ministering to the needs of the young and homeless of Oklahoma City Ok. She loved the Lord and was never afraid to stand up and be a witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Elizabeth was also a Licensed Practical Nurse.
    She is survived by her sister-in-law Avis Thompson of Caribou as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her husband Philip, two brothers Ellion and Ellery Kelley and a sister Audrey Johnson.
    Funeral services were held 2:00 pm from the chapel of  the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou with Rev. Roger Jewell officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
