It’s amazingly April already, and the activities and excitement are electrifying at Hodgdon High School this month. Grab your calendar and pencil in the following spring fundraisers and events: the Hodgdon High School class of 2010 invites the young and young at heart to attend the annual Easter Fun Day being held at the Mill Pond Elementary School on Saturday, April 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. Rumors have it the Easter Bunny has scheduled the event on his calendar and will be playing games and arts and crafts with the children.
Our librarian, Mrs. McCombs, has created an incredible Multicultural Day event at the high school on Thursday, April 16. Artifacts, pictures, crafts, animals, ethnic food and much more will be displayed in the gymnasium for staff, students and the community to enjoy from 1:08 until 2:25 p.m. Anyone can participate in this event. If you would like to share your experiences from another country or culture, call Mrs. McCombs at the high school, 532-2413.
District spring writing prompts will be given to all students in grades 9-11 on Thursday, April 9 and Friday, April 10. The students will be given a specific writing prompt and will have an 80-minute block to brainstorm, write, proofread and turn in a final product.
Eating a healthy breakfast and getting a full night’s sleep will help students concentrate and succeed on this district assessment.
Student-led conferences will be held for all students in grades 9-11 on Monday, April 13 from noon until 8 p.m. Students will be sharing personal learning plans, community service projects, several pieces of schoolwork and other class related items. Students have worked all year on their portfolios for this culminating event. Every student will get a chance to have priceless one-on-one time with a parent or another important adult in his or her life to share and shine.
