On June 27, Island Falls defeated Oakfield 21-4 to capture the Houlton Area Little League softball championship. Lauren Rockwell pitched a solid game allowing only five hits through six innings.
Island Falls hit the ball well the entire game. Katie Prescott went 5-for-5 from the plate with a double and four singles. Liz Drake had a double and two singles. Sable Altvater had an inside the park home run and two singles. Shanna Porter had two singles. Mataya Hartin had a triple, a double, and two singles. Marissa Boulier and Kylie Dunphy each had a single.
Oakfield was led by Jaci Deabay with a double and two singles.
