C.D. McLaughlin descendants hold family reunion

    On Saturday, August 8, 100 descendants of the C. D. McLaughlin family gathered at the Smoki Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfieldfor their 5th reunion. After a short meeting and the blessing, they enjoyed a chicken BBQ, which was prepared and served by members of the various families.
    Prizes were awarded for; Furthest traveled: Kendall Brennan from Salt Lake City, Utah. Kendall is the great-grandson of Janie McLaughlin Stevens.
    Youngest direct descendant: Sabine Lillian Gaudette, seven weeks old. Born on June 20, 2009, she is the great-granddaughter of Nadine McLaughlin Bradley.
    Most great-grandchildren: (direct descendants) Vern McLaughlin with fourteen.
    Most grandchildren: (direct descendants) Margaret McLaughlin Dunn with nine.
    Most “mature”: Beryl McLaughlin Stevens at 90 years young, born June 23, 1919.
    Other attendees came from as far away as Norfolk, Va., Olathe and Overland Park, Kan., Irving, Texas, Wind Ridge, Pa., as well as local and other locations around New England.
    Everyone had a great time and are looking forward to the next one.
