Houlton Community Chorus delights with holiday songs

    HOULTON — Sounds of the holidays reverberated through the Houlton High School auditorium Friday evening as the Houlton Community Chorus presented its winter concert.
    Under the direction of Rebecca DeWan, with musical accompaniment by Kyle Green and Kevin Mania, the chorus presented a mixture of songs, including a section of holiday favorites. Among the selections were: “Baby it’s Cold Outside,” “An Old Fashioned Wedding,” “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” Fly Away Medley,” “The Water is Wide,” “Down to the River to Pray.”
    The Community Chorus was joined by members of the Houlton High School chorus for a stirring rendition of “Take Me to the Water.”
    Holiday favorites included: “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning,” “Night of Silence,” “I Saw Three Ships,” “In the Arms of Winter,” “O’Holy Night,” “Keep on Following the Star,” and “Christmas on Broadway.”
