These young library members recently completed the “Babies and Books” program offered at the Caribou Public Library in collaboration with Cary Medical Center. In front, from left are: Parker Ouellette with his Mom, Katina and Jason Clark with Mom, Ashlyn. In back are Emiley Hite and her Dad, David. Absent from the photo were Emerson McNeally and his Mom Kasey.
The Babies and Books program provides a family with their baby’s first library card, a variety of handouts that give tips and suggestions for age appropriate activities, a free board book, an invitation to attend “Mother Goose Time” at the library from birth and a certificate of completion once the child reaches his or her first birthday.
Upon celebrating their first birthday, a book will be placed in the children’s section of the library with the child’s name in it, stating that they have completed the “Babies and Books” program.
Recent graduates of the popular program include Emerson McNeally, Emiley Hite, Parker Ouellette and Jason Clark.
The next Mother Goose Time, will begin at the Caribou Public Library on March 2. This group will meet Tuesday mornings from 10 to 10:30 a.m. This program is for babies from birth to 18-months of age.
