Dux Ball — The annual Meduxnekeag Club Ball — a highlight of the winter social season — was a brilliant success in every way. Black and silver crepe paper streamers formed a canopy overhead and black crepe paper window drapes with silver crepe paper trim and tiebacks were unusual and effective decoration. As a gesture of observance of the Lincoln anniversary, a large picture of the martyred president occupied a prominent place on a sidewall, with a bowl of carnations on a table before it.
