Bear JVs undefeated on season

EASTON — Even with a constantly changing roster of players, the Easton junior varsity boys basketball team completed an undefeated season for the 2009-2010 campaign with 13 wins. The Easton team began the season with 12 players, but moved two starters, sophomores Jonah Bacon and Holden Turner, up to the varsity level mid-way through the season. Grades and other factors caused the loss of three more players as the season progressed.

Through the changes, a core group of starters emerged consisting of juniors Zachary Clark and Jeff Condon, sophomores Cody Tompkins and Garrett Gray, and freshman Jared Hafford.  Contributors off the bench who received a significant amount of floor time included junior Chris Flewelling and freshmen Carl Mullen, Logan Sutherland, Harvey Brown, and Justin Guerrette.
The team won most of their games decisively with balanced scoring and intense defense. The team held opponents to an average score of 35 points per game and enjoyed an average margin of victory of more than 25 points per game.
Team scoring leaders for the season were Jared Hafford who averaged 12 points per game and Cody Tompkins who averaged 11 point per game. Jeff Condon lead the team in rebounding and Garrett Gray tallied the most assists.
