Anderson, Alyeene Thibodeau, 88, Caribou, at Van Buren, April 10, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., May 8, from the Holy Rosary Church in Caribou. Arrangements are in the care of Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

Image    Caribou – Alyeene Thibodeau Anderson died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at a Van Buren healthcare facility.
    She was born in Caribou on February 14, 1922, the daughter of Alfred and Odiana (Gardiner) Thibodeau. A life long resident of Caribou, she graduated from Caribou High School in 1938. Out of high school, she went to work as a clerk/typist for intelligence and security at the Presque Isle Military Base. In 1941, she was crowned the Maine Potato Queen and toured the New England states promoting the Maine potato. She married her high school best friend Warren L. Anderson on Feb. 14, 1952. In 1956, Alyeene and her mother opened Kiddie Korner, a children’s clothing store in downtown Caribou. They were well known to families throughout Aroostook County and enjoyed operating the store until their retirement in 1991. Alyeene was a charter member of the Holy Rosary Daughters of Isabella and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou.
    Alyeene was predeceased by her mother in 1990, her husband, Warren in 1999, brother, Lawrence (Larry) Thibodeau in 2004 and sister, Hilda T. Barrett in 2006; and brothers-in-law, HP Lee, Frank Barrett and Carroll Anderson.
    Alyeene and Warren had no children of their own but were blessed and survived by the longtime friendship and love they shared with Don and Debbie Sirois. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Lee of Bradenton, Fla.; sister-in-law, Audrey Thibodeau; sister-in-law, Phyllis Anderson of Caribou; nieces and nephews, Mary L. Kirk, Nancy L. Ehlert, Patricia Barrett, Colleen B. Lunt, Kit B. Warner, Bunny Thibodeau, Ann T. Seitz, Lee Thibodeau, Don Thibodeau, Frank, Andy, Colleen and Alberta (Allie) Anderson and all their families; and friend Donna Chapman.
    She leaves a very special thank you to the staff at Borderview in Van Buren and sends a message to everyone “You’re beautiful; I love your outfit and oh thank you dear.”
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, from the  Holy Rosary Church in Caribou
    Interment will be at the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
