CONNOR TWP — On Oct. 1 at approximately 7:40 p.m., 29-year-old Benjamin Zetterman of Connor was operating a 2006 Ford ambulance owned by the town of Van Buren southbound on Rt.1 in Connor Township. As Zetterman approached the intersection of the Jemtland Rd., a moose entered the roadway and was struck by the ambulance.
None of ambulance occupants — Zetterman, another ambulance attendant and an elderly patient — were injured. The patient was transferred from the scene by Caribou Ambulance Service. The Van Buren ambulance sustained minor front-end damage and was driven from the scene.
