“Celebrate Suess” Family Reading Night was held at Mill Pond School in Hodgdon on March 6. Guest readers Pete Loiselle, assistant principal and Sam Hiscoe, educational technician, read to the group of over 30 students, staff, and parents. Middle school students, Payden McGuire and Autumn Ganzel, dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2 and entertained students during the story “The Cat in the Hat”. The Cat in the Hat also made an appearance, thanks to Tabetha Ganzel, student volunteer from Hodgdon High School.
The students enjoyed a Dr. Suess craft, face painting, snacks, and door prizes. Middle school helpers were on hand to help with the activities. Family Reading Night is held each month at Mill Pond School for SAD 70 students and staff throughout the regular school year.
Additionally, Wellington Elementary School in Monticello held a Dr. Seuss reading event last week with students taking part in a variety of activities.
