Vehicle registrations — Maine Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap clarified vehicle registration details May 28. According to a May 26 state order, if a registrant’s municipality or Bureau of Motor Vehicles office is processing vehicle and trailer registrations, the registrant should register as soon as possible, and must complete this transaction no later than July 11 or by the deadline set by their municipality, whichever is sooner. If the municipality is not processing registrations during the BMV closure, and the applicant cannot complete the transaction online using the Rapid Renewal service (in participating towns), the registration is extended or exempt until such time as the municipal office or BMV can perform the work.

SUD Peer Support — The Roads to Recovery Community Center in Caribou and Aroostook Recovery Center of Hope in Houlton remain closed at this time, but personnel are available to help. All groups and meetings will continue via Zoom through June. New this month through Zoom is a Medication Assistance Therapy or Medication Addiction Treatment Recovery support group.  Additionally, staff will contact anyone who signed up for the CCAR recovery Coach Academy to gauge interest in a virtual course July 6-10.

Worship with restrictions — Effective Monday, June 1, the Diocese of Portland is allowing Maine churches to hold public Masses with restrictions and safeguards in place. The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues to be in place, and live streams will continue (see listing at www.portlanddiocese.org/live-streamed-Masses). Guidelines include, but are not limited to: no more than 50 people at any Mass; masks will be worn by all attending; seating will be established for 6-foot distancing; seats and pews will be sanitized after each Mass; holy water and consecrated wine will not be available.
