100 Years Ago – March 10, 1921

Annual session Monument Lodge F. and A. M. has been honored by being asked to exemplify the Third Degree at the annual session of the Grand Lodge.

New location — Porter the photographer has moved his studio this week to his new quarters in the Frisbie Block of Richard’s Store.

75 Years Ago – March 7, 1946

Appointed to telephone board — J.R. Doughty has been appointed to the board of directors of Independent Telephone Companies of the state.

On Buying Trip — Percy Rideout left Sunday by plane on a buying trip in the New York markets for the J.A. Brown Co.

50 Years Ago – March 10, 1971

New Brunswick outing — Seventeen members of the Business and Marketing Club at Ricker College recently made a field trip to Saint John, as guests of Irving Oil Company and New Brunswick Telephone Company. Club members Royal Earle and William Short attended the trip.

Memorial painting Robert Harrigan, president of the Houlton Lions Club, presented a painting to the Madigan Memorial Hospital in memory of the late Harold C. Grant Jr. Mr. Grant was a member of the Lions Club, and had been the business manager of the hospital at the time of his tragic death in an airplane crash. Accepting the painting for the Madigan was Sister Corinne.
