HODGDON, Maine – A single vehicle crash in Hodgdon during the night destroyed two mailboxes, a utility pole and a Ford sedan, but the driver does not appear to have been seriously injured.

Jesse Frederick, 20, of Cary was operating a 2015 Ford southbound on U.S. Highway, also known as Calais Road on Saturday.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m., Frederick lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway. The Ford struck two mailboxes before crashing into a utility pole, where it became tangled in guy wires.

Frederick reported he looked at his car radio when his vehicle swerved to the right just prior to the crash. The median and shoulder of the road had ice-covered snow, police said.
