BAILEYVILLE, Maine – Two members of the Houlton/Greater Houlton Christian Academy boys cross country team got in one final race of the season Sunday, competing in the Moosehorn Ghost Run half marathon.
Phillip Espenscheid, a sophomore at Houlton Middle-High School, and Colton Simoes, a freshman at Greater Houlton Christian Academy, were among 57 runners or teams competing in the event, held at the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge.
Espenscheid placed first in the 15-18 age division and was fourth overall, finishing the 13.1-mile course in one hour, 44 minutes and 48.5 seconds. Simoes placed first in the 14 and younger age group and was eighth overall with a time of 1:50.22.6.
