HOULTON, Maine — Jazlynn McNinch of Houlton, a senior at Houlton Middle High School, has been selected to receive the 2025 Principal’s Award, The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
McNinch, the daughter of Heidi and Jacob McNinch, has distinguished herself as a hard-working and dedicated scholar, demonstrating an extraordinary passion for achieving academic success and helping those around her succeed. Throughout her years at Houlton Middle High School, McNinchhas not only excelled academically but also demonstrated a well-rounded character through her extracurricular involvement. She has been actively involved in dance at the Houlton School of Dance since a young age, where she also mentored younger dancers during her high school years.

Her commitment to leadership is evident through her active participation in Student Council, National Honor Society and the Olympia Snowe Leadership Institute, where she has developed and showcased her ability to take on leadership roles that will serve her well in the future.
McNinch, Morse and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m.
The luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of 10 $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
