CARIBOU, Maine – The Center for Advancement of Rural Living is pleased to announce the launch of its new “Emergency Binder for Households”, a vital tool designed to help local residents organize and protect their essential information before a crisis strikes.
In the event of a fire, flood or medical emergency, every second counts. The CARL Emergency Preparedness Binder allows families to centralize medical records, financial documents, insurance information and personal identification in one secure, easily accessible place. Designed for quick transport, the binder ensures that even if a household must evacuate, their most critical data goes with them.
“Preparation is the key to resilience in our rural communities,” said Sharon Berz, spokesperson for CARL. “We wanted to provide a tangible, easy-to-use resource that helps our neighbors feel secure knowing their life’s most important details are organized and ready to move at a moment’s notice.”
Residents in Caribou and surrounding towns can obtain an emergency preparedness binder by calling Berz at 207-551-5672 or visiting the CARL office at 46 Sweden St..
The release of the emergency preparedness binder is the first phase of a broader preparedness initiative by CARL. The organization also announced that “go-bags” (pre-packed kits containing essential survival supplies) will be available to the community in the near future.
Based in Caribou, CARL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to filling the gaps in services for rural populations. From supporting recovery initiatives to enhancing community safety and vitality, CARL works to ensure that all residents of Aroostook County have the resources they need to thrive.
