ST. AGATHA, Maine — Ava Lerman of St. Agatha, the daughter of Doug and Tammie Lerman and a senior at Wisdom Middle/High School, has been selected to receive the 2026 Maine Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Throughout her years at Wisdom Middle/High School, Ava has distinguished herself as a student whose leadership, initiative, and pride in her school set her apart,” stated Principal Robby Nadeau. “Ava consistently looks for ways to serve and strengthen the Wisdom community. Whether she is leading her peers as a class officer and Student Council representative, serving as president of the National Honor Society, or representing students on the MSAD #33 School Board, she approaches every responsibility with dedication and integrity. Ava takes great pride in her school and continually goes above and beyond to represent Wisdom in a positive way, both inside and outside the classroom. She truly embodies the core values of our school — Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Engaged and Invested Learning — in everything she does. Ava is highly deserving of this recognition, and we are proud to celebrate her as the 2026 MPA Principal’s Award recipient for Wisdom Middle/High School.”
Lerman, Nadeau and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 10. The honors luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of 10 $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
