Baptist Park is preparing for its 95th camping season, which begins June 28 and ends July 31.
There will be three and a half weeks of overnight camping for kids of various ages, along with eight days of day camp for younger kids. Sessions will include Flight Camp for youth 14-18, which focuses on possible careers in aviation; Mountain Climbers for ages 9-11, Teenage Adventure Camp for ages 13-18 and Maxed Out Adventure Camp for ages 11-14.
One-night overnight camps for younger campers are available this year to help these youngsters adjust to being away from home overnight.

Baptist Park has added a day to the Mountain Climbers camp. New for this year is a one-day Flight Camp Mini for children ages 7-14 to learn about aviation.
The camp urgently needs counselors for the season. If you or anyone you know wishes to make a difference in the camping season, consider taking a trip out to the park and helping volunteers get it ready for the summer. There are lots of jobs to do and areas where the camp needs help.
Applications and other information regarding Baptist Park can be found at baptistpark.net.
Anyone with a child interested should register now and prepare for the camping season. For more information regarding the various camps and schedules, visit the website above.

Memorial Day
The Mapleton Lions Club will conduct its traditional Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, May 25.
This year the club invites assistance in selecting the parade grand marshal, and seeks nominations of people who are actively serving or previously served in the U.S. military.
The nominee will be asked, but is not required, to speak at the remembrance ceremony. If you know of someone from Mapleton, Castle Hill or Chapman who you believe deserves the honor of being grand marshal, please contact Steve Hanning at 207-551-6358 or any other member and provide the contact information of your nominee.
The parade will start lining up at 1:30 p.m. and will step off at 2 p.m. This is a community parade. All organizations, groups and individuals who would like to march are welcome to join during the lineup, which takes place on Dudley Road at the end of Main Street. No reservation is necessary.
The remembrance ceremony will be held at the Mapleton-Chapman-Castile Hill Veterans Memorial Monument at Mapleton Elementary School. Everyone is welcome to attend and remember the sacrifices of the veterans from the three towns.
