Madawaska hammers Ashland boys in pre-Christmas game

MADAWASKA, Maine — Madawaska dominated the Ashland boys basketball team, holding the Hornets scoreless for the first half on the way to a 71-9 home victory on Dec. 20. The score at halftime was Madawaska 36, Ashland 0.

The Hornets squeaked a few points out in the second half. Ashland’s Andrew Dotson made a third of those with a 3-pointer.

Madawaska’s Carson Cyr sank four 3-pointers on the way to 24 points, while Brady Gagnon scored 12. Samuel Dufresne and Sam Lausier each contributed a 3-pointer.
