Reed, Marguerite L., 90, November 22, 2007.  Arrangements by Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, South Portland. Interment to be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Monticello.     PORTLAND – Marguerite L. Reed, 90, of Portland, died November 22, 2007, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.  She was born on April 19, 1917, in Mars Hill, a daughter of Irving and Pearle (Carson) Lovely.
    She attended local schools, and was a 1934 graduate of Houlton High School.  She furthered her education at the Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture in Bangor. On November 6, 1938, she married Paul L. Reed.  He predeceased her in 1998.
    Marguerite worked at the Lawrence Beauty Shop in Houlton, and also in the admitting departments of Aroostook Hospital and Mercy Hospital.  She was a former member of the Military Street Baptist Church in Houlton, and was an associate member of the Black Point Congregational Church in Scarborough. She was active in the Girl Scout Council of Houlton, the Rebecca Lodge of Houlton, the Woman’s Fellowship of Black Point Congregational Church, and the World Wide Guild.
    Besides her husband, Marguerite was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Strout, and two brothers, Ken Lovely and Donald Lovely. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Dennis of South Portland; and a sister, Ruth Hull of Portland.
    A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, at the Black Point Congregational Church, on the Black Point road in Scarborough. Interment will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, in Houlton. Arrangements made by Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland.
