Nate Berry of Momentum Aroostook was the guest speaker Feb. 4 at the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s noon meeting at the Northeastland Hotel.
Momentum Aroostook, according to Berry, was formed to showcase what Aroostook County has to offer and to combat out-migration.

It is for current Aroostook County residents and former residents hoping to return who are between the ages of 20 and 40 years old.  The goals of Momentum Aroostook are to enjoy the region, form a support network, enact change, promote businesses, promote a positive image of the region and help make the County a more attractive place for young people.
Momentum Aroostook has hosted several group activities such as a pumpkin ride, kayaking, Wintergreen Arts Center activities and a Merry Mixer social.  Momentum Aroostook has a schedule prepared of events being held each month posted on its Web Site at www.momentumaroostook.com as well as a newsletter.
In other Rotary business, Club President Joe Clukey thanked all members who attended the Jan. 31 Auction Wrap-Up Dinner at the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club.
He also credited Scott Carlin and his hospitality committee for putting on an excellent steak and lobster feed. Following the dinner, proceeds from the successful 2007 Rotary Auction were dispersed to various agencies in the community including CANCER, Homeless Shelter of Aroostook, Spragueville Extension, Aroostook Football and Rotary Foundation.
The club’s newest members are Rachel Rice and Patric Edward. Rotarians are donating all coffee cup proceeds from now until the end of March toward the United Way’s fuel assistance fund.
