The first half of the Blast/Drillers contest looked like a giant pinball game with the ball flying back and forth between the two sides. Neither could mount any offensive momentum and the two sides went into the half deadlocked at 0. The Drillers were finally able to break through two minutes after the half. RJ Gross took the ball down the right sideline to the corner and sent a cross to the middle of the field. Teammate Griffin Guerrette settled the ball and blistered the back of the net with the shot.
The Gross-to-Guerrette combo hooked up again at the mid point of the second half when Gross intercepted a goal kick and once again found Guerrette in the middle of the field. The Drillers’ defense withstood a late flurry from the Blast to take the 2-0 decision. Gage Young and Grant Stewart played well defensively for the Drillers, and Tyler Levesque and Denny Young were the defensive stoppers for the Blast.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the Sting/Kicks game as both defenses played outstanding. The Sting got great play and hustle from Eddie Kilcollins, Zach Rice, and Devin Grant, while the Kicks were led by Austin Thibeau, Cole Staples, and Sam Gray.
As with the early game, neither the Strikers nor the Express could crack into the scoring column in their contest. The duo of Brenden Goulet and Joseph Boone did a great job on ‘D’ for the Strikers, and Bryce Smith helped out by controlling the midfield. Dylan Ouellette was fantastic as the sweeper for the Express, and Parker Lambert and Brian Fournier chipped in for their team’s defensive effort.

John Freeman of the Express and Byron Winslow of the Sting played incredible between the pipes for their teams.
As has been the theme over the last week, goals were not on the menu in the Sting/Strikers match up. The defenders reigned supreme once again for both sides, frustrating the front lines to no ends. The game ended in a 0-0 tie thanks to the play of Joseph Boone, Noah Rossignol, and David Cyr for the Strikers and Zach Rice, Eddie Kilcollins, and Kyle Rider for the Sting.
