Young Messengers reunion set for July 6

HOULTON, Maine — Plans are underway for a Young Messengers reunion to be held July 6, at the United Methodist Church 57 Military St. in Houlton from noon to 2 p.m.

This reunion will mark 48 years since the inception of the Christian group which included representatives from more than 18 churches. The group later grew to include participants from Presque Isle, Livermore Falls, Jay and Bangor.

Under the direction of Kaye Tricky, the Young Messengers traveled the state from 1970-74 performing the musicals “Life,” and “Love,” words and music by Otis Skillings and “Lightshine,” words and music by Craig Skeel.

This celebration is planned to honor Trickey in recognition of her years of dedication to youth in following a Christian lifestyle. A light lunch will be served. For more information, visit Young Messengers Houlton Maine on Facebook or call Debi at 207-532-0421.
