Wednesday, August 6

12:45 p.m. Caribou Middle School — Trespass — Police were advised of a male subject staying in the school bathroom. Subject’s identity was unknown. He appeared to be in his 50s, with a gray beard, wearing a pink T-shirt and jeans.     Action — Officer checked the area trying to locate the subject who apparently had been at the school for some time and in various parts of the building, according to the video camera. The subject was located and determined he was a transient. Police advised subject he was not to be entering buildings that were not public.
    1:35 p.m. Access Highway — Theft — Caller from a local business infomed police that a male subject had stated he had found a Rolex watch at the business. A second individual reported losing a Rolex. When caller approached first subject, he demanded money before he would give up the item.
    Action — On lawyer’s advice to submit item to police or face being arrested for theft, subject did so. Item was brought to the police station and owner will pick it up there.

Thursday, August 7

3:50 p.m. Access Highway — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported a vehicle, driven by a female operator, speeding through a trailer park had almost struck him.
    Action — Caribou Police notified Limestone Police and they will watch for vehicle.

Friday, August 8

12:15 a.m. Fort Road — Criminal Trespass — A male caller advised police of a communication business was supposed to be setting up a lease agreement with a second similar business to use their tower, but at that point the issue had not been taken care of; that day when he went to do work on the tower he noticed that someone from the other business had hooked up some equipment to the tower. Caller said he had disconnected the equipment and is guessing that the company will get complaints in the morning about the system being down and someone will likely respond to fix the problem and find it had been disconnected and either call them or try to reconnect. Caller advised that until the company signs the necessary lease, they are considered trespassing, requesting police to send anyone in the area away and to call them.
    Action — Police told caller they would let them know if anyone was seen at that location.

Saturday, August 9

11:25 a.m. Cary Medical Center — Suspicious Person — Caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle was making employees there nervous.
    Action — Officer spoke with  the male subject in vehicle was sitting, reading his Bible. Officer requested that subject park at another location, farther away from the entrance.
12:58 p.m. — Sincock Street — Harassment — Caller advised her landlord was threatening and harassing her. Caller said subject had just left and told her neighbors to call the police if she caused any noise at all. Her landlord was in the process of evicting her and thinks he can go in whenever he wants and harass her. Caller requested landlord be told to cease.
    Action — Police advised female caller to get a protection order against her landlord and an officer left a notice on his door to call the police department.
7:26 p.m. Bennett Drive — Assault — A female caller reported having witnessed a female struck by a male subject and the female was lying on the ground.
    Action — An ambulance was sent to the location where female was not being cooperative. A second individual also reported witnessing the assault. Male subject, who is on probation was brought to the police station and tested because he had been drinking. Subject stated he was trying to break up with the female and she was on her hands and knees begging him not to leave. Female was very intoxicated. No assault. Police were unable to contact the probation officer and subject was released to his mother. Police will follow up with probation officer.

Sunday, August 10

2:54 p.m. Bennett Drive — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported a vehicle had pulled out of a local business almost striking him while he was walking and a passenger in the vehicle was yelling at him.
    Action — Officers were busy at another location but will watch for subject vehicle.
    4:19 p .m. Teague Park — A male came into the police station reporting a large group of individuals had directed inappropriate language at him.
    Action — Officer spoke with subjects and learned apparently there was more to the story than what police had initially been told. All subjects were advised to keep their language clean while in the park.
7 p.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — Caller from a local business informed police of a large group of kids in the driveway; she requested they been sent away.
    Action — Officer cleared parking lot.
8:27 p .m. Route 89 — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported a group of individuals outside hollering and screaming about drugs and money.
    Action — Officer determined  problem to be an argument between two male subjects, one of whom had already left the area before officer arrived.

Monday, August 11

12 a.m. Route 1 — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Presque Isle Police Department called advising of a complaint they had received from a local business regarding a subject going through the drive-thru, vomiting in the vehicle. Employee at business informed police of smelling liquor coming from the vehicle.     Action — Police attempted to locate vehicle. Presque Isle police later located subject vehicle.
12:50 a.m. Sweden Street — Suspicious Activity — Caller reported being awakened by someone banging on something near a local business, sounding like subject was headed toward town.
    Action — Officer checked the area and spoke with a male individual who said he had seen six people on a side street. Officer checked that area but found nothing out of order.
6:40 a.m. Hilltop School — Criminal Mischief — Police were informed that over the weekend someone had done damage to the lawns by spinning vehicle tires; requested police check the area more closely.
6:52 p.m. Broadway Street — Theft — A male individual informed police that sometime over the weekend someone had cut half the exhaust off of a vehicle he had down by the train station. Male advised all of his equipment had to be moved out of there because it was slowly disappearing. Requested police to watch the area closer.
    Action — Police will watch the area; believe subject wanted the catalytic converter from the vehicle.

Tuesday, August 12

1:22 a.m. Main Street — Domestic — A female reported she had been struck by a male subject. While on the phone police could hear subject in the background stating he was the one who had been assaulted.
    Action — Subject was arrested for assault/domestic violence.
