    On Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., the Northeast Society for Human Resources will host its 12th Annual Employment Law & Human Resource Conference at the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Campus Center. SAGE celebrates 10th birthday
    Friday, Oct. 17, Seniors Achieving Greater Education (SAGE) celebrates its 10th birthday with guest speaker Rabbi Harry Sky, founder of the Maine Senior College Movement. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Campus Center. For more information,  call 768-9502.
Reed Gallery hosts reception
    On Sunday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m., there will be an opening reception for “Consider a Moment of Stillness” at the Reed Fine Art Gallery, Manhattan artist Risa Hirsch Erhlich comes to the County for the opening reception of her solo ceramics exhibition. She will give a brief talk and answer questions about her work. On Monday, Oct. 20, she will conduct a ceramics workshop with ceramics students. UMPI celebrates 13th annual Science Day
    On Wednesday, Oct. 22, the University will celebrate the 13th annual Science Day with a guest lecture by Dr. Orrin Pilkey, a coastal erosion expert and professor geology emeritus at Duke University. At 7 p.m., Pilkey will discuss coastal erosion and sea level change in his talk “Beach Erosion: Human Influence on Coastal Environments.” For more information, call 768-9482.
