Presque Isle High School held its fall sports awards night Nov. 9.
Awards were presented to members of the JV girls and boys soccer teams, varsity boys and girls soccer teams, varsity cross country teams, varsity cheerleaders and varsity golf team. Todd Player, coach of the JV girls, presented certificates to freshmen Emma Bartlett, Haley Bouchard, Liza Buck, Abbie Carrier, Kayla Girardin, Alex Lambert, Brooke Lovely, Katelyn McPherson, manager Madison Michaud, Meredith Stewart and Kali Warner; and sophomores Brittany Caron, Chelsey Carroll, Melissa Carson, Claire Cheney, Paige Doyen, Erica Hemphill, Katie Patenaude, Jess Theriault and Dani Woolland.
JV boys coach Nate Hasty handed out certificates to freshmen Corey Belanger, Chance Doak, Dakota Fox, Thomas Freeman, Michael Guerrette, Brandon LeBlanc, Khyver Lowe, Josh Morrow, Jonah Stephenson and Jacob Williams; sophomores Andrew Kofstad, Corey Meunier, Dylan Michaud, Travis Powers, Connor Shaw, Ben Sipe and manager Aaron Whitaker; and junior Ben McKenna.
Members of the fall cheering squad were presented awards by coach Jolene Kinney. First-year letter winners included freshmen Megan Byers, Justena Cleveland, Rachel Dow, Mary Green, Gabby McCrum, Allissa McDougal and Desiree Ouellette; sophomores Brittany Good and Grace Short; juniors Skylah Gendreau and Miranda Lovely; and seniors Kaitlin Calabrese, Naoimi Donovan, Jordyn Kinney, Mackenzie Lamoureux and Glendon Zernicke.
Second-year letter recipients included sophomores Courtney Lyford, Michaela Powers and Bonnie Zeng and senior Lorraine Hughes. Seniors Meghan Boucher and Bethany Lord earned third-year letters.
Golf team members received awards from head coach James York and assistant coach Marie Waddell. Freshman Gabe Player and sophomores Matt Freeman and Cody Merrill were given certificates. First-year letter winners were freshmen Adam Flynn, junior Alex Tuttle and seniors Zac Campbell and Alex Doody. Second-year letter winners were sophomore Evan Waddell, juniors Travis Dyer and Jordan Hallett and senior Keenan Eaton.
Mike Waugh, boys cross country coach, presented certificates to sophomore Dylan Elliot and juniors Nate King and Tyler Michaud. Freshmen Jonathan Rochester and Joel Shay and seniors Chris Cawley, Tyler Hotham and Zach Barnes earned first-year letters. Second-year letters went to sophomore Matt Eager, junior Logan Thibeau and senior Ethan York.
Lori Googins, girls cross country coach, handed out a first-year letter to freshmen Samantha Simonds. Receiving second-year letters were junior Emily Wright and senior Elizabeth Wright. Juniors Jaylee Fox and Alecia Palmer and senior Hallie Bartlett garnered third-year letters, while seniors Julia Brown and Jerica Fox received fourth-year letters.
Head coach Ralph Michaud and his assistant coach, Mark White, handed out awards to members of the girls varsity soccer team. Receiving certificates were freshman Meredith Stewart, sophomores Hillary Albert and Kate Campbell and juniors Rilee-Elliot-Currie and Lindsay Michaud.
First-year letters went to freshmen Karlee Bernier, Chandler Guerrette and Megan Ireland; sophomore manager Stacia Caron, juniors Shae Adler and Chelsea Lynds and senior manager Whitney LaPointe. Second-year letter recipients were sophomores Elise Jones, Chelsea Nickerson and Kayla Richards; junior Mackenzie Pinette and seniors Brooke-Long Postell and Jenna Stephenson. Seniors earning third-year letters were Amy Grivois, Alyssa Huston, Kailee Ireland and Kelsey Park. Jodie Buckley, a senior, was presented a fourth-year letter.
The varsity boys soccer team, coached by Scott Young and assistant Tim McCue, received awards as follows: sophomore Andrew Kofstad and junior manager Tyler Eager were presented certificates; and first-year letters went to sophomores Sam Clukey, Ryley Norton, Jacob Player and Cole Richards; juniors Caleb Mathers and Andrew Wilcox; and seniors Jacob Bonville, Chase Guerrette and Ryan Thibeau.
Sophomores Isaac LaJoie and Wilder York were given second-year letters along with juniors Josh Allen, Brandon Bonville, Andrew Legassie and manager Mike Picard; and senior Nathaniel Postell. Nate Ackerson, Matt Chasse and Dillon Kingsbury, all seniors, were handed third-year letters.
For special awards, Kelsey Park received a sweatshirt for earning multiple letters in soccer, skiing and softball during her athetic career; while Jodie Buckley (soccer), Julia Brown (cross country) and Jerica Fox (cross country) were given jackets for accumulating four letters in one sport.
