HELPING HANDS — Students at Wellington School participated in Community Awareness Day and helped custodian Dan Moreau, center, by painting some new picnic tables for the school playground. Four tables were painted in primary colors, red, blue, green and yellow. They will finish the tables with handprints of other colors for decorations. SPECIAL DELIVERY — Houlton High School students spent Nov. 19 doing a wide variety of community service projects. Some of the projects included helping to build a trail at the school, making cards for senior citizens and dropping off donations to the Houlton Humane Society for animals. This group of students spent the morning passing out free goodies to businesses in downtown Houlton. FOR THE ANIMALS — Wellington School Principal, Cindy Peterson presented a gift of food and cleaning items donated by the students and their families to Heather Miller, manager of the Houlton Humane Society. The gifts were packed in paper bag turkey decorations that were made during the school’s Community Awareness Day. The students from the school also attended the presentation and toured the facility.
