HODGDON, Maine — A 68-year-old Hodgdon man sustained a leg injury June 19 in a motorcycle collision.
Joseph Hogan was riding a 1996 Harley Davidson on the Calais Road at 2:29 p.m. when he attempted to pass two vehicles and was struck by the lead car, a 1985 Ford Limited driven by William Livorsi, 57, also of Hodgdon.
According to Maine State Police Trooper Daniel Marquis, Hogan did not see that Livorsi had his left turn signal on. Livorsi attempted to turn left into a residence and did not see Hogan attempting to pass. Hogan came into contact with the front driver’s side corner of Livorsi’s car, causing his right ankle to wedge between his bike and the car.
Hogan was not thrown from the bike and stopped a short distance down the road. Hogan sustained a non-life threatening injury to his right leg. He was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital by ambulance and later taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of a broken foot. He was later released.
Trooper Ethan Doody investigated the crash. U.S. Border Patrol agents assisted him.
