PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Silvia Merida-Copeland is joining the AMHC team. She will be working at the Presque Isle Outpatient Office providing psychiatric care for children and adolescents. She will be working collaboratively with other mental health providers in the area to provide comprehensive care for her patients.
“We are fortunate to have a child psychiatrist serving families in Presque Isle,” said Christy Daggett, AMHC CEO. “Dr. Copeland is well regarded by the community, and we are grateful to have her join the team at AMHC.”
Dr. Copeland joins a dedicated team of therapists and psychologists at the Presque Isle office. These health providers collaborate closely with each other, AMHC’s programs, and local partners to provide holistic and effective care both in person and through telehealth.
“I am excited to start at the Presque Isle Outpatient Office,” said Dr. Copeland. “I feel passionate about the work that I do and look forward to continuing my work with AMHC.”
Dr. Copeland began her medical career at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala City, Guatemala, before completing a year of residency at Instituto Guatemalteco de Seguridad Social. She received her training in psychiatry and obtained her fellowship with the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2006 she moved to Aroostook County and has spent the past 19 years at Northern Light Health AR Gould.
