AMHC celebrates Recovery Month: Recovery is REAL (Restoring Every Aspect of Life)

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is proud to join communities nationwide in recognizing National Recovery Month in September. This year’s theme “Recovery is REAL (Restoring Every Aspect of  Life)” reminds us that recovery is not only about addressing substance use challenges.

“Recovery is not just  about ending addiction,” said Christy Daggett, AMHC CEO. “It is also about an opportunity to start living.”

For more information on substance use disorders and access to resources, visit ShareFactsSaveLives.org. This  platform serves as a central hub for harm reduction strategies, prevention methods, treatment options, recovery support and efforts to end the stigma associated with substance use disorders.

How you can help:

Educate yourself: Learn about SUD and how it affects individuals, families and communities.

Participate in events: Join local workshops, events and observances that promote recovery.

Spread awareness: Share accurate information and encourage others to seek support.

Recovery Month provides an opportunity for the community to come together and support one another and celebrate the possibilities that recovery brings. Together, we can make a difference.
